Robin Bone, your River Heights physiotherapist

Robin Bone Physiotherapy, IMS, River Heights, Winnipeg

Robin received her degree in physiotherapy in 2003 with first class honors from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland. She has practiced in diverse clinical settings in Scotland, California, Florida, British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

Robin has completed extensive post-graduate education.  Since graduating, she has studied intra-muscular stimulation (see www.UBCGunnIMS.com). IMS is a new technique for chronic pain management and Robin is one of the few certified practioners here in Winnipeg.  IMS is a total system for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain conditions that occur in the musculoskeletal system.  In her experience, the aging body, as well as, the high performance athlete is equally served by this technique. She has had particularly excellent results with neck and back pain, whether as a chronic issue or as a result of specific injuries.

Robin’s manual therapy training includes cervical, thoracic, lumbo-pelvic, peripheral and myofascial manipulation all from the renowned, Stanley Paris, at the University of St. Augustine, Florida. Robin studied acupuncture at the Art and Science of Acupuncture, Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Finally, Robin is a certified STOTT pilates instructor with a special interest in the role that abdominal and spinal muscles play in spinal stabilization. These muscles are an important building block for the treatment of the spine and the extremities, which if properly targeted by the clinician can provide a holistic approach to body health.

She is an active cyclist, mountain biker, climber and cross country skier.
